January - Buenos Aires and Patagonia

Hi Folks !

First edition of the monthly newsletter from the Camino Nuevo team. You´ll find some news and pictures of our journey in South America.

After a great New Year´s eve on the plane, first stop in Buenos Aires. Warm welcoming from the Porteños (inhabitants of B.Aires), first pieces of beef, soccer with locals, tango shows, hanging out in San Telmo, Palermo, The Boca and its famous Caminito. Finished with the visit of the legendary Bombonera ( stadium of God Diego´s Boca Juniors).

First steps in Patagonia in Puerto Madryn and Peninsula Valdes, known for its biodiversity. Swam in the cold Atlantic ocean with beautiful sunset. Didn´t have a chance to see whales, but we heard and saw roaring sealions.

36 hours of bus later, we finally reached the end of the world : Ushuaia ! 4 day trek in el parque nacional Tierra del Fuego : lushing forests, esmerald lakes, conviviality around campfires. We were rewarded with a homemade french tartiflette ...

Next step in parque nacional Torres del Paine, Chile. Amazing 7 day trek in this wonderland. We resisted mosquitos assaults, strong winds and heavy rains as we were helped by good gears and by the magical recipe of Eric and Rob from Alaska : whisky - Tang. 135 kms of happiness : blue glaciers, granit mountains, mythical valle del frances, Los Cuernos and finally Las Torres.

Next edition in a month. To be coming : El Calafate, El Chalten, The Lake district, Santiago de Chile, ...
